Bobby Plough: Music

Little Bit Of Texas

(Bobby Plough)
Robert Joseph Plough
Sittin’ on the porch of my Carolina home
Memories of Texas fill my head
Visions of the places all the people I have known
All pictures of the life I’ve lead

I traveled cross this country and half of Mexico
Looking for some place to call my own
A little bit of Texas in everywhere where I go
So anywhere I’m at I feel at home

A little bit of Texas in everywhere where I go
Little bit in everything I do
I’ll never hesitate, to share some stories of the Lone Star State
My Texas spirit still shines true

People often ask me, how’d you get so far from home?
Carolina ain’t your lone star state
Well the countryside is beautiful there’s lots of open space to ride and roam
And a homespun feel to which I can relate

Texans fought at the Alamo, the Tar heels stopped that Union flow
They held their ground to the bitter end
It’s the pride that both state’s people show,
that makes ‘em such a darn cool place to go
With open arms they’ll take you in

A little bit of Texas in everywhere where I go
Little bit in everything I do
I’ll never hesitate, to share some stories of the Lone Star State
My Texas spirit still shines true

Willie hails from Texas, Doc Watson Caroline
I love their music to this day
The Kerrville sound is mighty fine,
and them Merlfest boys they’re right on time
Play all night to the break of day

A little bit of Texas in everywhere where I go
Little bit in everything I do
I’ll never hesitate, to share some stories of the Lone Star State
My Texas spirit still shines true
