Child In Your Blue Eyes

Quite taken by your presence
From the day that we first met
There was something about your sprit
Something that I would not soon forget

Though I really didn’t know you
It felt good when you came around
My days got a little brighter
Shake the blues out of this lonely town

How could I have known this would happen?
Captured by my own curiosity
When I saw the child in your blue eyes
Then I knew, that with you, is where I’m meant to be

Could have been just a simple flirtation
Soon it took on a life of its own
More and more we were drawn together
In a short time love had surely grown

Your dreams became infectious
Full of love, life, and eternal hope
When hard times cast its shadow down upon you
Dreams gave strength enough to help you cope

How could I have known this would happen?
Captured by my own curiosity
When I saw the child in your blue eyes
Then I knew, that with you, is where I’m meant to be

Now I carry a small card in my wallet
A simple poem about how much you believe in me
When the world gets rough, so complicated
I’m reminded that your love will always be

There’s a child that lives deep inside us
One I wish that everyone could find
Life itself can be so uncertain
Live everyday with that child inside your mind

How could I have known this would happen?
Captured by my own curiosity
When I saw the child in your blue eyes
Then I knew, that with you, is where I’m meant to be
