Ramblin’ Rhythm

(Bobby Plough, "Barn Full Of Memories")
Ramblin’ Rhythm
By Robert Joseph Plough © 2007

The sun is sinking slowly as the moon begins to rise
There’s a rhythm to ocean and there’s color in the skies
Something about this union really makes me feel at ease
It takes away my troubles they just float off with the breeze

Ride beside the ocean as the tide is coming in
Wash away the traces of my worries at days end
The rumble of the waves that break they make a special sound
With rhythm of the hoof beat as it meets with solid ground

Like the lyrics neatly fit into the rhythm of a song
Some things belong together, apart they seem so wrong
People search for their whole life to find something to hold
I found some peace in a Ramblin’ Rhythm there’s a kindness in his soul

It’s funny how things happen sometimes they just work out
When I met a horse named Rhythm, then I new without a doubt
That he would be the one to share these special times with me
Together we could ride along the trails down by the sea

The things that make me happy they share a common thread
From the beauty of the ocean waves to a song stuck in my head
There’s gonna be some sour notes, rough seas, and that’s alright
Somehow it comes together it’s the rhythm of my life

Like the lyrics neatly fit into the rhythm of a song
Some things belong together, apart they seem so wrong
People search for their whole life to find something to hold
I found some peace in a Ramblin’ Rhythm there’s a kindness in his soul

When you spread my ashes across this ocean that I love
I’ll be ridding off to heaven in the sunset up above
Me and my old buddy we’ll be together once again
Riding by the ocean on the trail that never ends

Like the lyrics neatly fit into the rhythm of a song
Some things belong together, apart they seem so wrong
People search for their whole life to find something to hold
I found some peace in a Ramblin’ Rhythm there’s a kindness in his soul
